My Sketchers only lasted about 10 months (I walk a lot on sidewalks for work which wears down shoes quickly). It is not true that you cannot get MBT's re-soled. Muscles took some time to get used to them and wanted to give up at times, BUT now I hardly notice they are on my feet! Terrible heel pain is greatly reduced at this point. I love the soft feel of the heel, it's like walking on a cloud. When I can afford another pair, I will definitely purchase a second style. I purchased my first pair of MBT’s about 3 weeks ago. Sketcher shape ups may not help those people in need medically due to the missing sensor in lacks thats put in MBT's heel. Thats where the money in paying more for MBT's go. There's no competition. Just different reasons for wearing each. If having any pain standing, walking etc, I do recommend going to Nordstroms, trying on a pair of MBT's, stand on them for 20-30 minutes and you'll see a difference. Good luck.
